Rebecca went to sit close to weeping Dabota and touched her hand.

"You have to stop crying." she said to her.

She looked at her face. "How can I stop crying when i could not do anything to save my mother. I ran like a coward."

Quinn also went to sit at her other side. "I know it is going to be difficult to accept your father. I know it will be hard to forgive him for what he did but you have to be strong for your late mother and do the right thing."

"What do you think is the right thing?" Dabota asked with tears raining down her face. "He killed my mother!"

"I know but revenge is not the best."

A frown creased Dabota's face. "What do you think is the best? Sit down and let my father come into my life when he is supposed to die?"

"You need to calm down," Rebecca said. "Revenge is not the best but justice. Your father will pay for what he did and I promise to stand by your side if you agree to my plans."

She cleaned her face with her hands and gazed at her friend with a questionable facial expression. "What plans? What do you have in mind?"

"Do you know what happened after he killed your mother?"

"No." she replied. "I ran immediately she gave up the ghost."

"Meaning you don't know if she was buried?"

She shook her head.

"Don't you think you have the right to know what happened to her corpse?"

"Of course I have every right to ask if she was buried."

"Your father can be persecuted. He can be accused of murder and go to prison."

"How can that be possible?" she asked in a puzzled tone. "This happened many years ago."

"I know." Rebecca said in a serious tone. "We will get the police involved."

"That will only spoil things because my father will never confess to what he did."

"Your father should be old and won't think of the plan to make him go to prison."

"Tell me what I can do to make it right."

"Call your cook Debbie to invite him in whenever he comes to your home."

"What!!!" Dabota exclaimed in a loud voice.

"Are you sure about this?" Quinn asked.

"I will tell you when you make the call."

"After making  the call, what happens next?"

"I will tell you what you will do and pay the police a visit."

Dabota sniffed her nose. "I trust you Rebecca."

"We are close friends, family," she said. "We are supposed to be there for each other no matter what. I trust you and Quinn and I know none of you will betray me.I will never betray any of you. We will fight together."

Quinn face fell. Her thoughts ran to what happened between Desmond and herself. She thought of the hate she might get from her best friends because of her sexuality. She cherished their friendship and would do anything for the both of them but keeping everything was the best thing to keep them going. She rose up.

"Is everything okay with you?" Rebecca asked.

"Ye..yes. I need to use the toilet."

"Okay." she said. "Whatever I discuss with Dabota, I will let you know."

She managed to flash a faint smile at her  friends. "I will be right back."

Rebecca turned to look at Dabota. "Are you sure Quinn is telling the truth?"

"What  do you mean?"

"I think she is hiding something from us."

"You think?"

"I know something is  wrong but she's not talking. Do you have any idea what she's hiding?"

Dabota shook her head. "I don't think she's hiding anything from us."

"Are you sure?" Rebecca asked.

She scratched the top of her head and looked down at her feet. "Yes."

Dabota agreed to call Debbie. When she did, her cook was surprised and asked why the change of heart.

"My your damn business and do what I ask you to do."

"Okay ma."

She ended the call and faced her friend.

"Back to your father," Rebecca said. "He only has to make a confession."

"How do I do it for him to make a confession?"

"You have to pretend and bring him close. You have to show him that you've forgiven him."

"Take him for shopping, allow him stay at your place and shower him with love."

"After that?"

"Discuss with him about the past but don't make him know you are angry. Ask him if she was buried or if he was able to cover everything surrounding the cause of her death."

"And you think he will say he killed her?"

"Yes. Did you ever have a clue why he beat her that day?" Rebecca asked. "what they argued about?"

"Of Course!" Dabota replied in a cleared tone. "They were always quareling about the other children my father had with another woman."

"He married a second wife?"

"No. She was only his girlfriend."

"Ask him about their welfare. Tell him you support him for beating your mother. That she should not have questioned him about his affair with the other woman."

"Will that make him open up?"

"He will. Making him to trust you will make your dad open up about beating your mother to death. When you are asking him, make sure you have a recorder to record your conversation."

She sighed loudly. "Now I understand. You are smart and a life saver. Thanks Rebecca."

"What are friends for?" she asked with a smile. "I am happy to help."

Rebecca searched the living room with her eyes and asked. "Where is Quinn? What has she been doing?"

"I really don't know."

A knock came at the entrance door before Hanks opened it  and strolled inside. He greeted Rebecca with a hug and shook Dabota's  right hand.

"Where is Quinn?" he asked.

"She should be in her room." Rebecca answered.

"Okay." he said and rushed inside.

Quinn's eyes were already red and swollen. The moment she heard a tap on her door, she ran to her dressing table to get her makeup kit to rub on her face.

"Come in." she said.

He opened and entered. "Why are you here when your friends are in your living room?"

"I will join them soon." Quinn answered. "Where have you been?"

"I will be leaving tomorrow."

She widened her eyes. "You are leaving?"

"Yes. Is that not what you want?"

"I only want you to forgive and forget. You can stay here for as long as you want."

"I am going back."

"Does that mean you have forgiven yrsister?"

Hanks smiled. "I did not forgive you because you sent Rebecca to plead on your behalf, but there was something she said that hit me."

"What did she say?" she asked in a curious tone.

"She said telling the public about what you did won't make my face look better or make me the happiest person on earth. It will only make me a bitter person."

"She said that?"

"Yes. I thought about it and it's true. I don't hate you Quinn, I was only mad at you."

"I don't know what to say." she said in an excited tone.

"You don't need to say anything because you have pleaded enough. Follow me to my room and help me pack my things."

She quickly held his hand to stop him from walking away.

"I don't want you to leave."

His left eyebrow uplifted. "Why?"

"I want you to stay and live with me for some time before traveling. Let's get to know each other better. I want to be close to you."

Hanks smiled.  "Me too." He hugged his sister. "I should never have threatened to blackmail you."

Quinn grinned at her brother. "I don't blame you. Have you decided to go for plastic surgery?"

He nodded. "Yes I will."

She was thrilled by the good news and embraced him again.

He asked. "Will Rebecca be living with you?"

"Yes. She left her husband and I know he will come here when he finds out she's living with me."

"Are you scared about that?"

"Of course!" she uttered. "Desmond is dangerous."

"I don't believe he will hurt Rebecca but try to win her back."

"But what about the people involved?" she asked. "People like us who supported Rebecca to the leave him."

"I will protect you and Quinn."

"What about Rebecca's father and Brown Smith?"

"Who is Brown Smith?"

Quinn sighed and walked to sit on her bed. "To cut the long story short, Rebecca and Brown are in love with each other."

He appeared surprised. "Are you for real?"

"Yes. Rebecca has not said she loves him but we know she does."

"Does Desmond knows about Brown Smith?"

"Only has a friend but Brown was there when Rebecca packed some of her things away from his house."

Hanks shrugged and went to stand in front of his elder sister. "If truly Desmond is dangerous, it means he is planning something."

"Really?" she asked in a frightened tone.

"I have a friend here in Nigeria named Leonard. He's good at finding things. I will contact him this week."

"Please do because I am scared."

"Give me necessary details about Brown and Rebecca's father and Desmond."

"I will do that."

Immediately Hank opened the door for his sister and himself, Rebecca and Dabota were already at the doorstep panicking.

"What is the matter?" Quinn asked.

Rebecca could not say anything.

Dabota spoke. "Desmond is at the front of your house!!"
